These terms are the agreement between you and Rivalta, Inc., which owns and operates Trip, Figured. They cover the public site at tripfigured.com and the trip planning application at app.tripfigured.com. Using either means you accept them.
What is running today
You can sign in and plan a trip. Paying for a trip is not open yet. The sections on purchase and refunds say the terms that apply when checkout opens. This page is dated, and the date moves when the terms do.
What Trip, Figured does
It turns your family, your dates, and your fixed points into a small number of complete route versions, tells you what to book and in what order, and shows you what a change would do before you make it. It is a planning service, and what you get is a plan.
What Trip, Figured does not do
We are not a travel agency, a tour operator, a carrier, or a ticket seller. We do not book anything, issue anything, or take travel money at any point. Every hotel room, train seat, flight, and activity is a contract between you and that supplier, on that supplier's terms, at that supplier's price. They own availability, changes, cancellations, refunds, and support. We cannot alter, exchange, refund, or service a reservation, and we are not the place to call when one goes wrong — the supplier is. Where a state requires a service like ours to register before advertising or arranging travel, we register and say so on this page.
The travel and booking boundaries page sets the same line out in more detail.
Who may use it
You must be 18 or older to hold an account. A parent or guardian enters the details of the children travelling and acts for them throughout; children do not have accounts. If you enter details about another adult travelling with you, you confirm you may share them.
Accounts and invitations
An account is an email address and a link sent to it — no password, and a passkey after the first sign-in if you want one. Keep that mailbox secure; anyone who can read it can reach the trip. Tell us promptly if it is compromised.
There are two kinds of access, and they are not the same. A household member sees your profiles, your family's notes, and every trip. A trip editor sees one trip. The second adult invited partway through planning is a trip editor unless you grant household membership deliberately, so an invitation to this year's trip does not open last year's allergy notes. Invitations are single-use, short-lived, and tied to one trip and one address. A child's Today link is read-only, covers today and tomorrow, and stops working when the trip is frozen. Do not pass a link meant for your household to anyone outside it.
What you buy
One trip, once. The planned prices are $149 for a family's first trip and $99 for a returning family. It is not a subscription: there is no term, no renewal, and nothing to cancel. Part of the planning is free; the purchase is what carries the trip past that point.
A purchased trip is editable for twelve months. When that window closes, editing stops and reading does not — the trip, its plan, and its printed pack stay in your archive, free, for as long as you keep the account. The window is a property of the trip you bought, never a limit on your account.
Prices are what you pay
The price shown is the price charged. No sales tax is added today. If a tax obligation arises where you are, the amount appears before you pay, never after.
Referral credit
Referral credit is an internal balance applied against a purchase. It is not transferable, has no cash value, cannot be withdrawn, expires on the date shown when it is issued, and there is a limit to how much applies to one order.
Refunds
What we can refund is the planning fee, because that is the only money we ever take. We never refund travel, since we never held travel money — a hotel or rail refund is that supplier's to give under their rules. Ask for a refund by email and say what went wrong. A refund or a payment dispute pauses editing on that trip; it does not touch your account and it does not touch your archive.
Schedules, prices, and estimates
Timetables come from public transport data published by rail operators and national transport authorities, and supplier details come from the suppliers. Every external detail carries when it was checked, and an estimate is labelled as one rather than dressed up as live. When a timetable passes the point where its publisher expects it refreshed, the service refuses to serve from it instead of showing you a stale departure. None of it is a contract of carriage. Check the departure with the operator before you rely on it, and check a room with the hotel before you count on it.
Matching a meal to a diet is not an allergy certification, and we say so wherever it appears. Seats together and connecting rooms are reported as what they are — a request, a likelihood, or a confirmation — and never overstated. The notes and accuracy page explains how each fact is dated.
Your content
What you put in is yours: your family's details, your pins, your decisions, your notes. You give us permission to store and process it to run the service for you and for the people you invite, and nothing beyond that. We do not sell it and we do not use it to train anything. The privacy notice says how long each part is kept and how to remove it.
Fair use
Do not scrape or bulk-extract the service, resell its output as a competing product, reverse engineer it, work around the free allotment, interfere with its availability, or use a household link that is not yours.
Availability and change
Features move, and the service can be unavailable for maintenance or for reasons outside our control. We may change these terms; the date at the top changes with them and a material change is announced rather than slipped in. The promise that a bought trip stays readable in your archive survives those changes.
Booking links and commission
Some supplier links pay us a commission. Commission never decides which city, hotel, train, or activity is recommended — route fit and your family's own rules do. See the affiliate disclosure.
What we do not promise
To the extent the law allows, the service is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. Travel carries risk that a plan cannot remove. Passports, visas, entry requirements, health requirements, and insurance are yours to arrange and check.
Limits
To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim is capped at what you paid us for the trip the claim concerns. We are not liable for a supplier's failure, or for delay, cancellation, a missed connection, closure, or any loss that follows from one. Some places do not allow these limits, in which case they apply to you as far as that law permits.
Your responsibility to us
If a claim is brought against us because of what you put into the service or how you used it against these terms, you cover us for it.
Ending it
You can stop using the service and delete your household at any time. We can suspend or end access for a breach of these terms, for non-payment, or where the law requires. If we end it without cause, you keep read access to what you bought.
Governing law
Texas law governs these terms, without regard to its choice-of-law rules, and the state and federal courts of Texas are the exclusive place for a dispute about them.
